Clear River Church is a non-denominational Christian church in the Lafayette area. We are comprised of a diverse group of people at various stages of life, from college undergrads to young professionals to established families with kids to retired empty-nesters. We're into connecting with God in a real and relevant way, connecting with other people in authentic, meaningful relationships, and living out our faith consistently in all details of our lives.

Join Us at 9:15am & 11:15am On Sunday

Sunday Service is where we gather together for worship and receive Bible teaching. It is the place where we are reminded of what is true, and where we are spurred on to live out what we believe the other six days of the week. It is also where we can invite friends to hear the simple truth about who Jesus is and what He has done for them. We know that going to a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience, full of questions like "What is going to happen?" "Will I be dressed right?" "What will the worship be like?" "Will there be people there like me?" We do not want you to be unsure about trying out Clear River on a Sunday morning, so here is what you might want to know ahead of time.

Before the Service

Feel free to wear whatever you feel most comfortable in, whether a t-shirt and jeans, or a button-down and slacks. Grab a cup of free coffee, tea, or hot chocolate at our café in the lobby. When you’re ready, you can head to the auditorium and grab a seat. In case you get to talking or refilling your coffee, we’ll have a countdown timer on the TV’s as the service is about to begin.

Parents

We have an excellent & safe kids programs where your children can learn about Jesus in a way that is fun, relevant, and easy for them to understand. Children may be dropped off 15 minutes before the service begins (9:00am & 11:00am). Visit the Clear River Kids page for more information.

One Eighty is a weekly gathering of our middle school students, grades 6th-8th, that meet during the teaching portion of our Sunday services. On Sunday mornings our high school students meet with the rest of the church for Bible teaching, worship, and prayer. Then on Thursday evenings we meet for Revolution, our high school youth group from 6:30-8:00pm at the church.

During the Service

Worship & Offering

We start our services with worship by singing songs to God. The worship music all has a modern feel, ranging from well known hymns to new gospel-centered songs. We want you to be able to express worship to God in a way that real and genuine. For us at Clear River, this means low-key, non-hype, heartfelt responses to the Living God. You can checkout our current playlist on Spotify to get an idea of the music we worship to (Spotify Playlist).

We also set aside time during our services for those who would like to give to God's church. If you are visiting there is absolutely no obligation to give.

Teaching

After announcements, a pastor will teach from the English Standard Version of the Bible. Because we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, we teach it as it is rather than teaching our own opinion. We aim to teach the Bible in a way that is clear and understandable to all, regardless of church experience, and also in a way that challenges us to put it into practice.

Prayer

As the last worship song plays at the conclusion of each service, those who want prayer will be invited forward and someone from our prayer team will pray for you. Nobody will pressure you to go forward to receive prayer, but the opportunity is there if you have things you would like God's help with.

After the Service

The services are usually at most 90 minutes. Please feel free to hangout and meet people afterwards; we would definitely like to meet you! Parents, please pick up your kids within 15 minutes of the service ending.
